Closed circuit television

Closed circuit television, this name is often heard. But do you know what it is? Well let us just try to find the same. It uses various video cameras through which signals are transmitted to a specified number of monitors. It is used in areas where lot of surveillance is required like airports, traffic and casino. It is quiet different from broadcast system because signal is not openly transmitted. There may be employment of point-to-point links.

The history of Closed circuit security camers dates back to 1942. It was first installed at Test Stand II in Peenemuende. It was first used to observe the launch of V2-rockets. These recording systems are often used to observe the activities related to take off of rockets. The main purpose of installing these video cameras is to watch the proper functioning. If there is any type of malfunctioning, it immediately comes into light by close monitoring done by the cameras. The use of film cameras is done for this purpose.
