Cardo Systems today announced a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) version of its popular scala-500 Bluetooth headset. The new scala-500 VoIP utilizes proven Bluetooth technology to allow VoIP users to manage their online calls wirelessly.

Weighing just over half an ounce and boasting a talk time of up to 7.5 hours, the scala-500 VoIP works as a standalone Bluetooth device for mobile phones, or as a VoIP headset with a laptop or workstation when paired with the Cardo Systems VoIP Adapter. The VoIP Adapter, which can be connected to the user’s laptop or PC via a USB port, delivers a remote, voice controlled, handsfree VoIP experience at a distance of up to 30 feet.

The scala-500 VoIP offers users of the popular Skype Internet telephony service wireless, remote voice control of key VoIP features, including Skype’s address book search, call contact, disconnect call, and redial functions, as well as the ability to minimize or maximize the Skype on-screen window.
