We’ve yet to actually see a MegaSIM in the market in the US — you know, those vastly capacious SIM cards from M-Systems, recent purveyors of vastly un-capacious flash drives. But apparently they’ve upped the capacity to a clean half gig, and are launching in France on bundled with an LG U8210, which doesn’t make a ton of sense being that the LG has a MiniSD slot, but hey, the more memory in your phone the better, says we.

A growing number of products like MP3 players, PDA’s or mobile phones can be charged via USB, so it’s quite handy to be able to charge your device even if you don’t have a PC handy. This is not a new product, but this small USB charger connects to a power outlet (100-240V) and offers 5V at 1A. It weighs 85g.

If you don’t mind Frankensteining your mobile with a little bump on the back and a funny looking tapered blue cable on the side, then a company called US Modular has a product that promises to add up to 8GB of extra storage to any Micro-SD or T-Flash enabled mobile. These include the Samsung D600 and the infamous ROKR (and, yes, that sort of makes the ROKR suck more, as you can’t really take advantage of the extra space anyway — at least not for music).
The “Stik & Stor”, as it’s called, comes in sizes ranging from 1GB to 8GB (to be released soon). The 1GB ($80) and 2GB ($100) versions are flash based, whereas the 4GB ($150) and 8GB ($200, when it comes out) use a microdrive.
It’s not exactly clear what the particular phone’s operating systems or applications will have to say about the sudden appearance of the mammothy storage, though US Modular claims peaches and cream seamlessness.

In addition to the PRO HIGH SPEED series (512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB), the SUPER HIGH SPEED series SD Memory Card (256 MB) delivers a maximum data transfer speed of up to 10 MB/s. The HIGH SPEED series of SD Memory Cards delivers a maximum data transfer speed of up to 2 MB/s (128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB) and of up to 5 MB/s (1 GB, 2 GB). Also the miniSD™ cards range from 128 MB to 1 GB. The company’s extensive product line reflects its commitment to meeting consumer needs.

The 1GS01 includes an extra connector - on the bottom half - that is hidden when not in use. Unfortunately, this drive is only compatible with Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones with support for other models planned in the future. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
