Samsung Electronics has announced its another record achievement – the company says it developed the first 2GB MMCmicro card for mobile phones. The new MMCmicro card consists of 4 NAND-flash parts 4 Gbit each.

The card has small dimensions – 14×12x1.1 mm. A 2GB card can store about 12 hours of mobile video, 3 hours of video can be downloaded for 2 minutes.

Three months ago the company introduced its 1GB MMCmicro card. Samsung said the 1GB card would be available during 2006, but didn’t unveil the release date of the 2GB model.
